Crisis Group role:
Jonathan Prentice has been with Crisis Group since August 2010. Since January 2015 he has oversight of Crisis Group's engagement with the UK government and other UK based partners, as well as coordinating Crisis Group's advocacy throughout Europe, as well as with Australia and New Zealand. He also oversees Crisis Group's workstream on the humanitarian fallout from conflict. Jonathan previously served for four years as Crisis Group's Chief Policy Adviser, providing policy guidance to the President and all regional programs.

Prior to joining Crisis Group, Jonathan Prentice worked with the United Nations for sixteen years in political analysis, peacekeeping and human rights. He served at headquarters in both New York and Geneva, as well as in Cambodia, East Timor (up to independence), Iraq and Indonesia. He has conducted a number of fact-finding missions, including in Afghanistan and Darfur/Chad, and was part of the UN's emergency response to Haiti in the wake of the January 2010 earthquake. He has a Master's in law from Oxford University and a B.A. (Law) from Cambridge University.
